The competition has now closed and we will be announcing the winners soon!
Your chance to win musical stardom and raise awareness of modern slavery!
We’re inviting schools across the UK to put their own spin on The Freedom Song. You can add in an extra verse and use as many different instruments as you like (or none at all). All we ask is that you stay true to the spirit of the song and call for freedom for everyone around the world.
How to enter
Gather your band, brainstorm a few ideas, and then get recording! It doesn’t need to be slick, we’re looking for innovation and talent, not a fancy sound system. You can just record sound or make a video too. Then send it to us by email at firstname.lastname@example.org by Wednesday 17th April.
We will share the entries with our judges, including children’s author Frank Cottrell-Boyce and the nation’s favourite vicar Revd Kate Bottley. They will think long and hard about which is the best. Then we’ll let you know if you’ve won! There will be two categories: Primary and Secondary.
What will we win?
The two winning entries will be invited to record their version of the song in a professional recording studio, and get a fully mastered version to take home. Both schools will also win £1000 each in Just Enough vouchers, so they can spread awareness of modern slavery throughout their school.
